Although the annual physical tour for 2020 is canceled due to Covid, some artists are accepting visitors. Check artist profiles for details.
With the Covid-19 Pandemic, it has become apparent that AOS cannot do the tour as usual. For the 2020 tour, check out which artists are participating on our website: "participation" will mean different things for different artists. Some will accept visitors as long as those visitors practice health and safety precautions, some will accept visitors 'by appointment only', some will only have an online presence on our site. We're working on a possible YouTube channel dedicated to AOS.
…is a free, self-guided art adventure in the “Quiet Corner” - and is a wonderful opportunity to meet Northeastern Connecticut’s painters, sculptors, fiber artists, photographers, metal-smiths, woodworkers, potters, glass artists, jewelers, and other fine artists.
While many folks experience fine art by visiting galleries and museums, people rarely have a chance to meet the artists and to be in the welcoming spaces where they nourish their creativity and produce their art. The Artists’ Open Studio tour gives artists the opportunity to connect with you and to share their passion and expertise - a sure cure for some of the isolation artists often feel while working in their studios.
Please do note that not all participating artists are showing in their studios. There are a growing number of group shows providing visitors the opportunity to view a variety of works in one venue.
We are also proud to have sponsors who are displayed both on our website and our brochure. So, when you plan your trip across Northeastern CT, consider adding in a meal or two at some of our sponsoring restaurants. And please be sure to let them know you are on the tour.
