Kim Kordonowy

Artists Open Studio Dates:

November 26, 27, 28 & December 4, 5

Kim Kordonowy worked as a commercial interior designer for 10 years.  Then she raised her family while taking art classes through the St. Louis Community College.  She belonged to several art organizations, received juried awards, and conducted workshops and demos in St. Louis while exhibiting and painting through “Gallery 309” in Wildwood Missouri.

In 2019 Kim and Paul moved to “The Quiet Corner” to be closer to family.

Kim has worked in charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, and oil.  She has developed her own multimedia fabric and paint expression, often doing pet portraits, and animals in nature, especially birds and fish in motion.

Artist Statement:
I graduated as an interior designer. But after several years, I realize that my true interest is making art. I focus on birds, fish, and other animals as they live and move in their own space. I paint in layers of acrylic, and oil, and often add fabrics around and in the animals to build textures and patterns. I explore color, movement, and imagination to pull the viewer into and through the painting. Each piece is an exploration of our neighbors in nature.
