I learned how to paint and draw at Plainfield High School Adult Education class. I was in my late 30's. My teacher, Marge Gaffney, told me I had talent and I should continue my studies. I took art classes at QVCC for three years and then went to Foster Caddell Art school where I studied for over 30 years. I also take various workshops
I volunteer, teaching art at the Plainfield Senior Center.
I belong to the NECTAG and the Pastel Society.
I like working in oils, acrylics and my favorite medium is soft pastels.
I have been commissioned to paint many paintings: most of them were pet portraits. Other commissions include people, homes, buildings, trucks, tractors, cars murals, side of barn labels, a book cover, mailboxes and one submarine. Most of my commissions are worked from photographs.
I won best in show with my pastel of "Pheasants" and best is show with a pastel of "Peaceful River".
I have been in various art shows with the NECTAG and the Pastel Society
