Artist Statement
After years of exploring the artistic styles of realism, Impressionism, abstraction and design, I continue to investigate a variety of mediums including drawing, acrylics, watercolor, and pastels. My work encompasses a passage from one creative thought to the next- farm animals, flowers, landscapes, energetic child-like exploration of abstractions to line and design. I seek to find that serene place where my right brain engages, where creative thought emerges and gives birth as music guides my hand.
My experience is grounded in an art education collected in 3 universities as well extend instruction in art studio instruction, workshops and internship. I have exhibited work in art shows and galleries throughout the state. I am also a certified art instructor with 19 year of teaching experiences. I have won a variety of art awards throughout my career including CPS American Art Award, 2015, MCC First Place 2015 and Second Place 2019, VAC Second Place 2013, Munson Art - President's Award 2019.
