Painting is the way I put my dreams, beliefs and memories into visible form. Painting has kept me connected to this special world for almost forty years.

Sometimes my paintings are called childlike and sometimes ethereal and sophisticated. I don't look at things when I work. Often I start a painting not knowing what the subject will be. The painting mostly takes a direction of its own. Though not abstract, there is an abstracted and not realistic quality to my work. Trying to show the nonmaterial nature of the world is my goal.

Oils are my paints of choice though I also work in watercolor. Not using solvents, I've had to be creative about applying and blending colors. This need to be creative is part of how the paintings speak.
