Mechanics and motion have always fascinated David. During college he studied physics, engineering and chemistry to further his understanding of how things worked. This intuitive understanding of motion and mechanics combined with the artistic influences of his wife, Marji, led him to the creation of kinetic sculptures. In 1975 they started “Wood That Works”  and he became a full time sculptor. Since then he has designed and handcrafted hundreds of different limited edition and one-of-a-kind kinetic sculptures. He continues to enjoy inventive exploration as he applies creative problem solving to sculpture. He currently maintains a studio in Ashford, CT which is open by appointment.
